The 1st regular meeting of CPICC for Central Region of 2026 was held at 10:00 a.m. on May 8 at the 5th-floor Auditorium of Nantun District Office in Taichung City. The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Shao Zhi-jun, commander of the Theater of Operations and convener of the conference, with representatives from the Executive Yuan Mobilization Committee, the Tai-Min CPICC, local governments under the jurisdiction, and military units jointly attending.

       This meeting integrated the three conferences of mobilization, combat power integration, and disaster prevention to conduct concrete work reports and opinion exchanges focusing on the five major pillars of "Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience." Additionally, Lecturer Lin Gang-wei from the Disaster Prevention Research Center of National Central University was invited to deliver a special report titled "Challenges Under Extreme Weather: Government Business Continuity, Livelihood Resilience, and Public-Private Collaborative Strategic Adaptation Under Natural Disasters in the Central Region." Through the political-military communication platform, the session aimed to effectively enhance civil-military integration capabilities and refine mobilization mechanisms, ensuring the continuous operation of government and civilian functions during extraordinary times, and supporting military operations when necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of whole-of-society defense resilience.
