The All-out Defense Mobilization and Disaster Prevention and Rescue (Min An No. 9) Exercise of Hualien County for 2023 was successfully completed on June 8 (Thursday)

The Min An No. 9 exercise staged for the eighth time this year was completed by the Hualien County Government on June 8 (Thursday) at the Hualien County Disaster Response Center, Hualien Port, and Meilun Junior High School. The exercise was chaired by Mr. Yang Sin-chang, Deputy County Magistrate, serving as the exercise commander, and Mr. Lin Teng-jiao, Administrative Deputy Minister of Education, as the instruction officer of the Executive Yuan, who led representatives from various ministries to implement appraisal and assessment.

The exercise effectively got together subordinate bureaus, divisions, public and private enterprises and institutes, civil defense teams, soldiers of the reserve military service, non-profit making organizations, and rescue and volunteer groups, which adopted "disaster salvage and rescue in wartime situations" with actual troops, and on-the-spot and physical objects as its primary approach. The exercise included "salvage and rescue of Hualien Port sabotaged by enemy secret agents during war-time" and others, which went ahead as planned. The drills were realistic and concise, effectively strengthening the civilian and material support of the county government for war disaster rescue and salvage operations, and enhancing the integration of central, county, and city government relief resources.
